Airplane hits bus on Miami road. On Saturday evening, a small plane made an emergency landing on the Rickenbacker Causeway in Key Biscayne, Florida. While landing, the plane’s wing clipped a Miami-Dade bus that was carrying 30 passengers. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported from either the passengers on the bus or the 4 people on board the plane.

The causeway was closed in both directions as officials from the Miami-Dade Police Department and Miami Fire Rescue investigate the crash. This incident serves as a reminder of the potential dangers of emergency landings on roadways.

Florida, being a state with a strong aviation industry and a large number of private aircrafts, has seen several similar incidents in the past where small planes have made emergency landings on roadways. In 2019, a small plane made an emergency landing on a highway in Lakeland, Florida. Similarly, in 2018, a small plane made an emergency landing on a busy street in Clearwater, Florida.

It is important for both pilots and passengers to know the proper procedures for emergency landings and to always have a plan in place in case of an emergency. It is also important for drivers to be aware of the potential for emergency landings on roadways and to stay alert for any incoming aircrafts.

Saturday’s incident on the Rickenbacker Causeway serves as a reminder of the potential dangers of emergency landings on roadways and the importance of being prepared for such situations. While the outcome of this incident was fortunate with no injuries reported, we should always be prepared for the worst and hope for the best. NewsChannel8
