Boat Hit By Lightning Off Clearwater Beach. The Coast Guard rescued 7 people on board after the strike. 5 women and 2 men were part of a fishing tournament about 100 miles off shore.
No matter the odds of being hit by lightning, we get off the water and beach, right? What the heck when you are 100 miles out? Good news is the boat was equipped with emergency beacon, flares, and radio. Coast Guard transported all to the station in Clearwater where they were met by family. Wow! No on was seriously injured.
