Joseph Bozeman of Plant City won $1 million from a Florida Lottery scratch-off ticket then he surprised his wife by telling her with an oversized check.

Bozeman said, “I’m going to surprise her by walking into our house with this oversized check and when she doesn’t believe me – I’m going to tell her to check our bank account!”

Bozeman purchased the scratch-off ticket in Plant City at Walden Lake Food Mart located at 2710 South Turkey Creek Rd. That store receives $2,000 for selling the winning ticket.

Bozeman played the 50X The Cash scratch-off game and he chose to receive his winning in one lump sum, which is $820,000.

13 things Floridians are thankful for, a list.

There are many perks to living in Florida. We have great weather, lots of things to do, we don't have to shovel snow in the winter and lots of interesting people.

In fact, according to the most updated U.S. Census data released in December 2021, the sunshine state has more new residents than any other state besides Texas. This is ever more evident than ever in our traffic congestion and real estate market.

220,890 new residents moved to Florida between July 1, 2020, and July 1, 2021. This means that Florida is still the third most populated state in the nation behind California and Texas, respectively.

So it seems many of the people who have vacationed here are making a decision to just stay in Florida. Can you blame them?
