Could A USF On-Campus Football Stadium Really Happen?
The USF Bulls play football at Raymond James Stadium, home of the Buccaneers and a stadium where three Super Bowl’s have been played, but could USF get their own stadium on the campus of USF in Tampa? The chairman of the USF board of trustees, Will Weatheford, spoke at the groundbreaking of USF’s new indoor practice facility and what he said is exciting.
Weatherford said, “I’m just going to say it, I for one think Bulls Nation deserves to have stadium on this campus.” He continued, “These student-athletes … our 50,000 students … the alumni, faculty and administration, they all deserve a stadium on this campus. I’m here to tell you we’re going to do it. It’s going to take a lot of work. It may take a little time. But If I know anything about USF and the Bulls spirit, it’s that we’re never shy about having bold ambitions and going after them.”
