Baseball & Beer. How Many Per Game?

Not shocking. The average Tampa Bay Rays fan drinks 2.9 beers during a game? Does not include extra innings. And, Chicago fans like to toss ’em back, big time.

Even though baseball has tried to speed up the game, you’re still getting a solid three hours when you watch one, maybe more.  That’s a lot of time to drink a lot of overpriced beers. A new survey ranked every Major League Baseball team by how much their fans drink when they watch games.

Chicago White Sox fans drink the most per game, at an average of 4.2 beers each.  The rest of the top five are:  Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland’s now unnamed baseball team, and San Diego Padres.

On the other end of things, somehow Philadelphia Phillies fans drink the least, at 2.4 beers per game.  The rest of the bottom five are:  Oakland A’s, San Francisco Giants, Los Angeles Dodgers, and St. Louis Cardinals.
