You Tell/Ask Coworkers “How Much You Gettin Paid?”
Does it still feel like it’s taboo to share how much money you make with your office mates or coworkers. Or…is that just a way for The Man to hold you down and keep you from knowing you’re underpaid? Haaa. Ask a co worker right now, “Hey, what are you pulling down this year?” See how that works for ya.
According to a new survey, HALF of workin folks now say they’re willing to tell their coworkers how much money they make. And the younger someone is, the more likely it is that they’re willing to discuss salaries at work. Well, yea. Makes sense. Unless you’ve been there 15 years with regular raises and maybe a bonus or two. Then you must stay OFF the radar, so not to remind your boss/owner that they can hire a newbie for 20-30% less. Like, tomorrow.
The survey also found 50% of people would ask for more money if they found out coworkers were making more than them. And maybe you SHOULD find out how much your coworkers make . . . because right now, only 30% of people think they’re underpaid.
