Busch Gardens New Roller Coaster “Iron Gwazi” Put On Hold
Busch Gardens is opening back up to the public on Thursday, but you won’t be able to ride the new roller coaster called Iron Gwazi. The new coaster uses the structure of the old wooden Gwazi coaster, Iron Gwazi is taller and faster and has a 206-foot drop and a top speed of 76 miles per hour. Iron Gwazi was completed to the point of doing test runs just before the coronavirus closed Busch Gardens in March. Busch Gardens president wouldn’t say when Iron Gwazi will finally open. “It was so close to the finish line, but the right thing to do was to close our operations down and the various contractors needed to be sent home,” Stewart said. “We don’t have a distinct date yet but as soon as we can, we certainly feel it’s the top of our priorities to finish that ride.”

Some Florida businesses are reopening as the number of COVID-19 cases begin to go down. Many have limited hours and capacity so it’s a good idea to call ahead.
