A Fall Corn Maze 45 Minutes From Tampa
It’s tough to get into the fall spirit when it’s humid and temperatures are still pushing 90 everyday. But this weekend, we’re going to get a little break from the heat Sunday. Tampa forecasters say we’ll wake up to temps in the 60s and some spots might not even hit 80 for a high in the afternoon.
Sunny and 80 isn’t exactly sweater weather, but we’ll take it. There’s Halloween fun at Busch Gardens as Howl-o-Scream is in full swing, but you may not know there’s a 5 acre corn maze not too far away from Tampa too.
About 45 minutes north of Tampa, you’ll find Sweetfields Farm in Brooksville. Head straight up Highway 41 through Lutz and Land O’ Lakes or jump on the Veterans Expressway. Both will get you there in under an hour from the Tampa area.
Sweetfields Farm has a Fall Corn Maze and a pumpkin patch too. Everything gets going around 10am and winds down around 5pm. Before you jump in the car, be sure to check their website. They often sell out so you could do that drive for nothing. In fact, this past weekend both Saturday and Sunday’s activities sold out. Purchase your tickets online before you go for $11.95 plus a service fee. If you do wait until you get to the farm, you’ll pay $14. Everyone 3 years old and up needs a ticket.
Other things to know before you go to Sweetfields Farm…
Pets are not allowed. Drones need to stay home too. With Florida’s unpredictable downpours this time of year, they do offer a refund if the farm closes due to weather.
And you don’t need to fill up before you go. Food trucks include Pop Fusion Popsicles, Papa P’s BBQ, Strong Tower Winery, Nina’s Wood Fire Pizza and there’s fresh pressed apple cider and kettle corn too. Ever been to Sweetfields Farm? Let me know what you thought and give any tips you have here.
