Surfing Parrot At John’s Pass
This weekend we finally had a rain free weekend! This was great for boaters like myself. Some friends and I took my boat to a popular hang out for boaters called the John’s Pass Sandbar. People anchor their boats up, set up volleyball nets, and play music. What you don’t usually see is a Surfing Parrot at John’s Pass. That is right a Surfing Parrot at John’s Pass. This bird looked like it was having the time of his life just floating and getting pushed around on a boogie board.
What really was impressive though is when the Parrot’s owner told someone to put their unopened beer bottle in front of the bird and without hesitation the bird opened the man’s beer by pecking it with its beak. I watched this bird open a White Claw, High Noon, Bud Light, Coors Light, and a few other adult beverages. Greatest bar tender ever? I think so! You can probably assume that this trick was inspired by its’ owner enjoying a few cold ones with his buddy. This is way better than the typical “Polly want a cracker” or listening to a bird whistle.
What was even better is that we had a Second Date Update having to do with birds just last week which we thought was insane! To our surprise we even found out that they make “Bird Diapers” Listen to that Second Date Update here.
Needless to say the Surfing Parrot at John’s Pass became the picture and video of the day for everyone who was there. Myself included. So next time you are hanging out around John’s Pass keep your eyes peeled for a very talented Parrot. I just wish I would have gotten his name. Maybe next time.
