Can We Please Have A Country Super Bowl Halftime Show
I am so sick and tired of seeing pop artists, and rap artists get the headline for the Halftime show. The NFL, and Pepsi really need to try and rotate the genre of music. Just like they rotate the city, the NFL needs to rotate the music.
For instance one year would be rap artists, then country, and then pop.
Looking back at the last 10 years not one country group, or person has headlined, or been a side act. I get pop, and rap are popular, but country has the best fans in the world. We party harder, drink more, and know all the words to every song. Country music has it’s own TV network, they have 3 award shows, and countless music festivals that sell out every year. Clearly Country music has the market to host the biggest concert in the world.
In the past 10 years I thought two halftime shows were worth their weight:
Lady Gaga 2017
The beginning of this show was down right amazing. With the drones making the American flag, and Lady Gaga jumping from the roof. Hands down the best of the past decade.
Now my 2nd favorite would have to be:
The Who 2010
A little biased but I love classic rock, and hearing everyone sing these classics sent chills down my body.
Pop, and Rock are the only ones who have played a halftime show this past decade. This is honestly a damn shame. Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Toby Kieth, Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert; these are all artist who have sold out tours year after year. So why on earth are they not in the conversation?
Come on NFL, it’s time you bring country back…
