St. Pete To Vote On Scooters This Week
There have been mixed reactions since being introduced in Tampa. St. Petersburg is next. The Tampa Bay Times reports that the City Council will likely vote to bring scooters to St. Pete. There will be strict rules in place and they say a lot has been learned by seeing what happened when the program in Tampa was rolled out.
Among the rules:
– Riders must be at least 16.
– Maximum speed will be 15MPH.
– Scooters are not allowed on sidewalks.
– The scooters will not be available for use after 10PM.
The Times reports use will be prohibited from Demen’s Landing to Coffee Pot Park and on the Pinellas Trail west of 34th street.
