Allegiant Adds 2 New Non-Stop Flights From SRQ Airport
The Sarasota Bradenton Airport might be more of a last resort airport for most Tampa Bay residents, but the newest Allegiant non-stop flights might change that. Allegiant is adding 2 new non-stop flights from SRQ airport just in time for summer.
We have some of the best airports in the entire country right here in Tampa Bay. Between the Tampa International Airport and the St Pete-Clearwater Airport, we’re spoiled with easy travel experiences and flights going across the USA.
The New Allegiant Non-Stop Flights From SRQ Airport
The 2 new Allegiant non-stop flights from SRQ Airport will be heading to Des Moines, IA, and Austin, Texas. The newest non-stop flight from SRQ Airport to Austin through Austin Bergstrom International Airport started on Thursday, May 30th.
Allegiant Air Chief Revenue Officer Drew Wells said, “Anticipating accelerated travel demand, we are excited to bring back these seasonal routes for passengers to enjoy some of our network’s most popular destinations just in time for summer vacations.”
Flights from SRQ Airport to Austin will fly out on Thursdays and Sundays. I lived in the Sarasota area last year and had to spend a few months in Austin. This flight definitely would’ve been convenient back then instead of driving. There’s a lot to do in Austin so if you’re looking for a quick weekend trip, this might be a good option.
If you’re looking to head out towards Des Moines, Iowa, through Des Moines International Airport, then you’re in luck. The non-stop flights from SRQ Airport to Des Moines start on June 8th and will run on Saturdays only until October. Then they will run twice per week.
I spent 4 years living just outside of Des Moines and there’s quite a bit to do there if you’re looking to escape the heat for a few days here in Florida. Plus, the Des Moines airport is tiny making traveling very easy.
