It's not a goodbye, just a see you later. A popular Tampa Bay food truck that has been a staple to the community since 2020 is closing it's last location to change gears to a new concept. But still leaving some questions to fans. Earlier this year, Fo' Cheezy food truck closed their Downtown St. Pete location, and now they'll be leaving St. Pete Beach to focus on something new.

Fo' Cheezy is one of the most popular food trucks in the Tampa Bay area. You were almost guaranteed to see them at any major event or festival. Their menu was focused on over-the-top and crazy grilled cheese combinations, upgraded sides like flavored tots and mac and cheese egg rolls, wings, and desserts.

In a social media post to fans, owner Robert Hesse wrote that since their lease is ending soon, it's time to pack up the St. Pete Beach truck and focus on the next adventure. "Based on our local success and popularity we have made the decision to redirect our company efforts towards something that will be launching soon…stay tuned! In doing so, we will be closing the beach location, as we did the downtown location earlier this year, and parking the truck for a while,"

But the biggest scoop/question from this news is what will happen to the Fo' Cheezy location inside Tropicana Field. The food at the trop has been considered some of the best "junk" or ballpark food in the country, and having a local business contribute to that was awesome to see. Even though there was no clarification, we'd like to think that they'll at least finish out the 2024 season with the Rays.

So what's the next move for chef and owner Robert Hesse? His next concept is going to be a fine dining restaurant in hopes to earn his first Michelin Star.

What Makes A Good Philly Cheesesteak?

The Classic Philly Cheesesteak might seem to be open to interpretation, but like a Cuban, there are rules. An authentic Philly Cheesesteak comes loaded up with juicy, ribeye steak that is thinly sliced.

Next, you’ll top that ribeye with melted, gooey provolone cheese, white American cheese or Cheez Wiz. Yup, Cheese Wiz. Then, you’ll want to throw on some fried onions and pack that all onto a toasted hoagie roll.

The History Of The Philly Cheesesteak

The legendary Philly Cheesesteak dates back to the 1930s. Brothers Pat and Harry Olivieri from South Philly joined forces with their accidental creation of the Cheesesteak.

Legend has it that Pat and Harry operated a hot dog stand at the corner of Wharton Streets and Passyunk Avenue in South Philly (currently where Pat’s King of Steaks operates). Pat suggested Harry go buy some beef from the store.

They sliced it up, grilled it with onions, and piled it high on a roll. A Taxi driver smelled the beef and stopped in to see what was cooking and asked for one of the sandwiches. The cabbie paid for the sando and the Philly Cheesesteak was born.
