Video Shows A Florida Police Officer Rescuing A Kitten From The Highway
With a lot of negativity in the headlines and world today, it’s good to see some positivity out there. A new bodycam video shows an Alachua Police Officer rescuing a kitten from the highway last week in Florida.
The Alachua Police Department took to Facebook yesterday to share a post about an Alachua Police Officer rescuing a kitten from a highway. In the video, you can see cars are continuing to pass even as the officer is standing in the road.
The Alachua Police Department said, “Last week, while on patrol, Officer Stanfield located a kitten lying down in the middle of NW US Hwy 441, while vehicles continued to pass within feet of it. Ofc. Stanfield stopped to rescue the kitten from the roadway. Thanks to the help of a Mi Apa Latin Cafe driver who used their truck to assist in stopping traffic, the kitten was safely removed from danger.” The kitten is now safe and sound after being adopted by one of the dispatchers working in the Alachua Police Department.

Users took to the comments on the Facebook post to thank the Alachua Police Officer rescuing a kitten and the driver of the Mi Apa Latin Café. Mi Apa Latin Café commented a reply to the video saying, “We have the best officers in Alachua and our drivers always know what the priority is.”
Honestly, the food looks pretty good from the Mi Apa Latin Café. They’ve got empanadas, multiple versions of the Cuban sandwich, soups, salads, tamales and more. There’s definitely going to be some new faces making their way into Mi Apa Latin Café after seeing this video.
The High Springs Fire Department chimed in to give their two cents saying, “Good save! Bonus points for bumpin Eminem on patrol!” In the video, you can catch the kitten just chilling along to the music so now we know who the real slim shady is.
