What Makes Palazzo Pizza In South Tampa So Delicious
Palazzo Pizza in South Tampa
Have you tried Palazzo Pizza in South Tampa? It’s located on Platt Street. If you love a great slice, you’ve got to check them out. Two things stand out to me about Palazzo: the delicious Italian food, for starters. And the way the owners and staff at Palazzo make you feel…like family.
Let’s talk about the food, first and foremost. The owners explain that it is Italian-inspired and Boston-inspired, as well. The pizza is the best you’ll find in all of Tampa. Not that there aren’t some other great pizza joints, but Palazzo takes it to the next level with all their pizza mechanics, beginning with the crust. It is crispy and chewy at the same time, exactly as it should be. The tomato sauce is so flavorful with just the right amount of zing.
They don’t offer a ridiculously large amount of menu options, which is a good thing. The different pizza toppings are always fresh and high-quality. My favorite pie is a Margherita. You see it pictured here in the story. Yes, that was my pizza. And that photo was taken after the first slice was eaten. (I love this beautiful pizza photo. It reminds me of a pizza Pacman.) The rest of the pie was scarfed down.
Pizza isn’t their only delicious offering. I love their Greek salad. Their Buffalo wings with Parmesan are top-notch. And you must try the empanadas.
Why Does Palazzo Pizza in South Tampa Feel so Family Friendly?
Because the owners and the servers make you feel like family. Undoubtedly, when you arrive at Palazzo, you will meet Jason Fox. He has created this friendly culture and is so nice. Your food will come out quickly. That’s always a plus when you have kids with you. They have an official family night for kids on Wednesdays.
It’s no wonder Palazzo is highly revered by so many people who move to or visit Tampa. Their pizza has a big-city taste to it. And Fox has been around the country to find the best pizza flavors to then bring to this lovely neighborhood pizza joint, Palazzo Pizza in South Tampa.
Palazzo Pizza hosts their version of family night on Wednesday night. Although anytime you visit Palazzo, Jason and the staff certainly make everyone feel like family.

The Barstool legend started his pizza tour in Sarasota at IL Panificio Pizzeria. After someone hyped up the mom-and-pop shop with mixed reviews, he decided to check it out himself. He ordered 1 large cheese pizza and after “one bite” he declared “Not bad at all”, but wished it was a little crispier. He gave the pizza a 7.4 rating, which is pretty good for Dave’s standards. This is a higher rating than Tampa staple Eddie & Sam’s. Dave gave them a 7.1 rating 5 years ago.
The highest ranked spot on Dave’s list with a score of a perfect 10 is Monte’s Restaurant in Lynn, MA. So far his highest ranked pizza spot in Florida is Mister O1- South Beach in Miami with a ranking of 8.1. But let’s see how those rankings change after he posts his Tampa reviews.
