Do you take advantage of those fast food freebies after Tampa Bay Lightning wins? If you did this year, it really paid off. How much? Let’s do the math.
A chicken sandwich at Chick-fil-A costs about $4.76 with tax. You win one each time the Lightning win at home. That happened 27 times during the regular season… giving you $128.52 in free chicken sandwiches. But that’s not all. The Lightning kept the promotion going in the playoffs, which got you another $33.32 in free sandwiches with all the home ice wins.
Chicken sandwiches aren’t the only freebie. If the Lightning score 4 or more goals in a game, even if it’s an away game, you get a free double cheeseburger (well “Double Stack”) at Wendy’s. Those sell for about $2.66 with the tax. Take those 38 games when the Lightning got those 4 goals, or shout out the other team (not allowing any goals), and you get $101.08 in free burgers. Add in those playoff games and you add another $18.62 in free burgers.
There are other promotions too. For example you get half off your pizza after a win. I didn’t count those since you’re still paying a bit for your pizza. But if you add up all those freebies, your grand total in free fast food for this season… so far? $281.54! You might wanna hit the gym. That’s a lot of fast food.
