The Last Tampa Area K-Mart Will Close After Christmas
The Tampa Bay Times reports the area’s last Kmart is going to lock up its door once the holidays are over. The Kmart on 66th Street in Kenneth City opened back in 1970. It survived many cuts over the years as online retailers like Amazon flourish. They kept the location alive by doubling as a retail store as well as a delivery hub for online orders. In a statement, the company said the decision was difficult but necessary. The closest location to our area will now be in Bradenton.
