Cops in St. Pete say there are two particular Ford pickups that thieves are targeting right now. The reason why is simple. Doors have been locked. It’s not that.
If you drive a 2001-2010 F-250 or F-350 Diesel, there’s no transponder inside your key. That makes it easier for crooks to do their magic. Other models with keys that have the transponder can’t be started. Police said on Fox 13 News tonight that crooks are getting the job done in under 5 minutes.
15 trucks are missing. The part that really worries them is none of these vehicles are being recovered. So it seems there’s a much bigger problem that might be yet to uncover.
