Popular Tampa Chinese Spot Tops Restaurant Inspector Naughty List

Nooooooo… man sometimes I hate Fridays only because this report comes out from health inspectors who check up on Tampa Bay restaurants. Sure enough, one of my FAVORITE Chinese restaurants ended up on the list with the most violations this week, according to Channel 8.

Yummy House China Bistro on East Hillsborough in Tampa had 31 violations. They were apparently selling grouper… but it wasn’t grouper. It was some other kind of fish called “Swai.” (I”ve heard that’s common.) Employees were caught not washing their hands when they should have too. Ugh.

Hong Kong House on Fowler in Tampa had almost as many issues with 28 violations.

  • La Casita Grocery & Restaurant in Ruskin
  • Skinny’s Bar & Grill in Hudson
  • Shark Tales in St. Pete Beach
  • Huarache Azteca in Dunedin
  • U Poke Spot in Tampa
