With Florence in close proximity to the coast, severe wind gusts and rain have already knocked out power to over 150,000 residents.
According to WRAL, the newest projection shows the hurricane has slowed considerably, and is expected to strike Wilmington around 8 am.
That’s later than earlier estimates, which showed it making landfall around 2 am.
At this time, the abundance of power outages have occurred in eastern North Carolina.
Make no mistake about it, despite the storm being downgraded again, Florence is still expected to bring lingering rain to the area — Which could lead to catastrophic flooding.
