Carly Pearce Scores An Historic No. 1 With “Every Little Thing”
Carly Pearce has done something few new artists do: score a No. 1 song with their debut release.
Carly’s “Every Little Thing” tops both the Country Aircheck/Mediabase and Billboard Country airplay charts this week. “There was a time not long ago I thought my heartbreak was my own,” she says through her record label. “I’ve worked and prayed for this moment. To anyone who has embraced ‘Every Little Thing,’ you’ve changed my life so much more than I could have imagined. I am so grateful for my first-ever No. 1 and the sometimes-rough journey to this dream I’ve had since I was a little girl.”

Carly’s “Every Little Thing” is the highest-charting solo female debut since July 2015, and she’s one of just four women to accomplish that feat in a decade and a half. And since inception of the Billboard Country Airplay Chart, she is only the 12th woman to pull it off. Not bad, eh?
Sacrifice and hard work make it all the sweeter. “I feel like it is definitely not something that you can just move to town and go, ‘Oh I’m going to be a star,’ or ‘Oh, I’m gonna get a record deal,'” she recently explained in an interview released by her record label. “It’s a very difficult business to break into and you have to be willing to commit your whole life to it. And I think the people that are willing to fight and claw and kick and scream and continue to grow are the ones that stick around and hopefully have a shot. And that’s all I ever wanted.”
