Eric Church Releases Massive Amount Of Live Music
Talk about a lot of music. Eric Church will release more than 100 live recordings between now and the end of the year as part of 61 Days In Church, a compilation of songs recorded during his record-breaking 2017 Holdin’ My Own Tour that wrapped in May.
The tour spanned 61 dates with an average of 37 songs nightly, some purposely performed with no rehearsal. “We recorded all of it,” the superstar says through his publicist. “We had some [songs] that I was adamant that I wouldn’t rehearse with the band. I would tell the band a couple hours before the show, ‘This is the song we’re going to do,’ and then I wouldn’t see them until we did it, when we played live.”

Thirty songs from the project are available now through Apple Music with successive batches released periodically through the end of the year. Following a two-week exclusive with Apple, the songs will also be available on other streaming services. Finally, a physical CD and vinyl package will be released on Record Store Day 2018 (April 18th).
“I had so much fun learning songs that were unique to whatever city we found ourselves in,” Eric continues. “I learned a lot about each place, and it was special to see the crowd react to the songs that were only for them. I’m glad we recorded it and can relive it forever.”
