Kenny Chesney’s Student-Created Music Video For “All The Pretty Girls” Debuts
You might remember that Kenny Chesney invited Nashville-area college students to create the music video for his latest single “All The Pretty Girls.” Now the winners are in and the video is out.
A pair of Belmont University students named Jessica Martinez and Will Renner took Kenny up on the challenge and fully produced their video in two days. That doesn’t sound like a lot of time, but it was actually longer than they expected. “We thought the first day was only going to be five hours,” Martinez says through Kenny’s publicist. “But when we got started, we found some more creative things to do. We ended up shooting for 10 hours, with an hour for lunch.”
Their video follows a group of girls – actual friends – having a hangout day and running into some boys along the way. A relationship develops between one of the girls and one of the boys, which gets explored through a series of house parties, bonfires, car rides, hiking and creek jumping.

“Our vision was to capture the essence of a summer fling – just the feeling of freedom and having fun, not taking things too seriously,” Martinez continues. “Because Will is from Virginia, he was able to get people he knows from high school [to be part of it], which made it really fun to shoot.”
The pair were awarded a $5,000 scholarship for their efforts. “We didn’t daydream about winning, but now that we’ve been told we won, it’s honestly surreal,” Martinez says. “We just wanted to create something awesome.”
The final version, seen above, premiered on CMT over the weekend.
