‘Pure Country’ Anniversary: George Strait Movie Soundtrack Coming To Vinyl
A vinyl copy of George Strait‘s Pure Country soundtrack? Yes, please.
It’s hard to believe that it’s been 25 years since the movie’s debut, but it has and folks are celebrating. A 25th anniversary limited edition vinyl copy of the six-times platinum soundtrack will be available beginning September 15th, the same date the collection first hit stores all those years ago.
George is even spotlighting the soundtrack with his September 1st and 2nd shows in Las Vegas, and the Austin-based 28-theatre independent movie chain Alamo Drafthouse is screening the movie throughout the month of August.
Our love for @GeorgeStrait is unconditional, so we're pleased to announce our PURE COUNTRY Movie Party!

According to a recent story in The New Yorker, George was convinced to do the movie in part by longtime Elvis Presley manager Colonel Tom Parker, who communicated the role movies played in turning the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll into an icon. The Pure Country soundtrack is George Strait’s highest-selling single album. Buy tickets to one of George’s last four shows of 2017 here.
