Three restaurants in Tampa Bay are on the list of Florida’s most iconic restaurants. A travel blog called Trips To Discover put together this list.

They named the Top 12 iconic restaurants in the State of Florida. The blog said its mission is to “inspire you to travel more, to turn day dreamers into fanatical travelers”.

Check out the list below, which is no particular order.

• Bern's Steak House, Tampa

  Berns Steak House, located in South Tampa, perennially lands on “Best Of” lists and is a very hard reservation to get. In addition to your meal you can also indulge in amazing wines and don’t forget about the Dessert Room!

  Trips To Discover says, “It boasts the largest private wine collection of any restaurant in the world and has been in operation since 1956, offering its guests a unique dining experience with locally grown vegetables and 21 choices of caviar”

• Columbia Restaurant, Ybor City

  If you hear the name Gonzmart in the Tampa Bar area you immediately think of The Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City. It encapsulates the history and the culture of the area.

  “Said to be the oldest restaurant in Florida and the oldest Spanish eatery in the United States, this restaurant offers guests the chance to dine on fresh paella and sangria to the sounds of castanets and flamenco dancers.”

• Yoder's Restaurant & Amish Village, Sarasota

• McGuire's Irish Pub, Pensacola

  Located in an old firehouse, this pub serves up pints and Irish Fare such as Shepherd’s Pie. On Sunday you can partake in their Irish Coffee Brunch! Sláinte!

• The Old Spanish Sugar Mill, De Leon Springs

  Truly an interactive  food experience, where “each table has its own griddle and spatula with a pitcher of homemade pancake batter.” Visitors can also customize their all-they-can-eat pancakes with syrups, fruit, and sweets.

• O'steens, St. Augustine

  With a menu that has been mostly unchanged for many years Trips To Discover says they are “known for its delicious fried shrimp, Minorcan clam chowder, and side of hush puppies.”

   

• Jaxson's Ice Cream Parlor & Restaurant, Hollywood

  According to Trips To Discover, menu highlights include, “Chocolate-Peanut Gargantuan, Fudge-ana goblet, and an Old Fashioned Banana Split.” They also offer a full food menu with crinkle fries and onion rings, burgers, and New York-style hot dogs, to name a few.
