Ice Skating at Curtis Hixon Park in Tampa: 13 Things To Know Before You Go

Preparations are already underway to open the outdoor ice skating rink at Curtis Hixon Park in Tampa. Once Nicole departs Florida, cooler temperatures will move in. Not necessarily hot cocoa weather, but we’ll take temps in the 70s during the day and 60s at night. Here are the things to know before you go!

  • Opening Day

    The rink will open next Friday (November 18) at 5pm. Skate until 11pm.

  • Parking

    “Nominal rate” parking is available at William F. Poe Parking Garage.

  • You've got almost 2 months to visit

    If you can’t make opening night, the ice skating continues through January 4, 2023.

  • Operating Hours

    For November, skating goes from 11am to 11pm November 19-23, and November 25-27. On November 24 and November 28-December 2, the rink opens at 4pm.

  • Thanksgiving Day

    Burn off some calories and hit the ice! The rink will be open on Thanksgiving from 4pm to 11pm.

  • Cost

    Tickets are $17 for all ages. You can reserve a time to skate online at WinterVillageTampa.com.

  • Ice Skates

    Don’t have a pair of ice skates? No problem. Rentals are included with your admission.

  • Choo Choo

    The Curtis Hixon Park Choo Choo will take you on a 5 minute ride through the park. It’s free.

  • Santa Visits

    Watch their socials to see when the old guy is dropping by to take photos with kids.

  • Christmas Movies

    There will be outdoor movie screenings for free November 19 and December 16 at 7pm.

  • Weather

    Obviously Florida weather is unpredictable and not always wintry… so keep an eye on their social media (@WinterVillageTampa) for closures. You can also email tampa@icerinkevents.com.

  • Santa Fest Parade

    The parade stars at 1pm on December 3. It starts at Morgan and goes to Ashley Drive along Madison Street. It’ll be followed by the tree lightning ceremony at 6pm.

  • Pets

    Leashed dogs are ok in the park, but they’re not allowed on the ice.
