Tampa Native Angie Rey Talks About Being On The Voice
Tampa native Angie Rey talks about being on The Voice at the QYK studio. We were so excited to find out that Tampa Native, Angie Rey was going to be on the Voice. She has been a friend of ours for while now and we wanted to invite her into our studio to hear more about her experience. J.R. was the first of our crew to meet Angie and then introduced her to Launa and Kevin. J.R. first saw her sing at Ricky T’s on Treasure Island and the two became friends through their love for country music. Launa then ran into Angie at England Brothers Park for Country In The Park a few years back when she joined Pirate Flag on stage.
Tampa Native
Angie grew up here in the Bay Area. She graduated from Seminole High School in 2017. She has been singing on stages all around the bay area. She finally moved out to Nashville a few years ago to pursue her dreams. Angie recently auditioned for The Voice and a dream came true.
The Voice
Angie talks about her audition on The Voice and how nervous she was. She performed the song Penthouse by Kelsea Ballerini. When Kelsea quickly recognized that it was her song she was singing, she turned her chair which secured a spot on the show for Angie.
Angie Rey came back to Seminole, Fl recently and attended the Kelsea Ballerini concert at Amalie Arena. Another amazing thing happened to her. Kelsea spotted her in the crowd and invited her to join her on stage to sing her song Homecoming Queen. Videos have been shared all over social media, even Kelsea sharing pictures of the two on stage together.
While filming The Voice, Angie is also working on new music. She released a single called Running Back about coming home to Tampa.
We are so excited for Angie. We have no idea how far her journey will go on The Voice, but we are happy to see the show that stars this Tampa native. Check out the interview with Angie in our studio.
