Halloween Festivals Coming To Tampa
It may be summer, but everyone’s mind is already on fall. Just look at any Tampa bay department store, they are all decked out in Halloween decorations. All for different reasons too. For some parents, it means the time to send their kids back to school. For kids, it may be the time for them to get away from their parents. However, we can all agree we are excited for Halloween season. People are so excited, they’re already posting about the festivals coming to town. So here is a list of Fall Halloween festivals coming to Tampa.
Scream-A-Geddon: Florida’s Premier Horror Park
Returning for its annual fright fest, Scream-A-Geddon in Dade City, Florida, is set to open its gates on September 8th. Known for its intense, interactive haunted houses and scare zones, this year’s lineup features six horrifying attractions. Among the new experiences is “Carnival of Carnage,” a twisted take on a traditional circus, where clowns and carnies lurk in the shadows, ready to terrorize unsuspecting guests.
Scream-A-Geddon is celebrated for its unique “interactive” elements, where visitors can choose to participate more directly in the scares. One of the coolest thing I go back for every year is the bus where you can shoot “zombies” with paintball guns. If you’re looking for a bit more of a scare, those brave enough can wear a glow necklace, signaling to the actors that they are willing to be touched, grabbed, and even momentarily kidnapped into hidden rooms for a closer encounter. Tickets are already on sale and you can buy them here.
Howl-O-Scream: Busch Gardens’ Night of Terrors
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay’s Howl-O-Scream is back, beginning on September 13th and running through October 31st. This year’s event promises to be bigger and better, featuring new haunted houses, scare zones, and live entertainment. Highlights include “The Forgotten,” an eerie new house where ancient vampires emerge from the shadows, and “Voodoo Vendetta,” a chilling voodoo-themed maze filled with dark magic and sinister spirits.
In addition to the terrifying attractions, Howl-O-Scream offers themed bars and live shows, making it a comprehensive night of horror and entertainment. For those looking for an adrenaline rush, the park’s roller coasters operate in the dark, adding an extra layer of thrill to the experience. Save on your tickets when you buy them early! Right now single-night tickets are only $35 (normally $120). Click HERE to buy tickets.
Undead in the Water: A Nautical Nightmare
Unique to the Tampa Bay area, Undead in the Water returns to the American Victory Ship on September 20th. This nautical-themed haunted attraction transforms the historic World War II cargo ship into a vessel of nightmares. This year’s theme, “The Final Voyage,” invites guests to explore the ship’s haunted halls and decks, where the undead crew awaits.
With its claustrophobic corridors and authentic maritime setting, Undead in the Water provides a distinct and immersive horror experience. Visitors can expect intense scares, detailed sets, and a storyline that draws them deeper into the chilling lore of the cursed ship. Dates start September 27. Tickets aren’t on sale yet but click here for more info.
