New Tropical International Route Announced At TPA
Get your passport ready! America’s favorite airport had a big announcement today. Press and travelers followed along with a live post from TPA for the big news. CEO Joe Lopano started the press conference with “Buenos Dias”, which was the biggest hint to the new non-stop international route.

Tampa International Airport also recently announced 4 new spring break flights with Spirit Airlines to accommodate the surge in travel. These routes include Kansas City, Memphis, Nashville, and Milwaukee.
Other Changes Coming To Tampa International Airport (TPA)
TPA is by far the best airport in Florida. And they are constantly working to upgrade the airport. The upgrades are coming in three phases and they are currently in phase 2, which broke ground in 2019. The initial development includes a nine story office building, known as SkyCenter One, a new commercial curb and an atrium that connects the development area to the SkyConnect station at the Rental Car Center. The seamless Blue Express Curbside4s opened in 2021, the Red Express lanes are currently under construction. It is expected to be finished in 2025.
Phase 3 is expected to begin later this year and will take about 3 years to complete. This phase will focus on a new 16-gate terminal Airside D. You may have also noticed a facelift to the main terminal baggage claim.
