Parker McCollum Sounds Off On Musician On Twitter
A relatively unknown singer tweeted Parker McCollum this week, asking him to record one of his songs. Parker recognized the name and shared an unpleasant experience he had with him a few years ago.
Parker responded to a Tweet by a singer named Parker Milsap, who tagged McCollum as well as Luke Bryan Zach Bryan, Kane Brown, Luke Combs, and Chris Stapleton. Milsap tweeted, “Hey big country stars, plz cut my track ‘Front Porchin” I promise your fans will love it. @zachlanebryan @lukebryan @ParkerMcCollum @ChrisStapleton @lukecombs @kanebrown.”
McCollum replied, writing, “Bout 10 years ago, I saw this guy at the Saxon pub in Austin. I was 20 years old and a huge fan. He was a total d— to me after his set when I tried to talk to him. Funny how things work out.”

A couple of hours later, after fans responded to McCollum’s reaction, he responded to a post from a guy defending Milsap, writing, “They say the folks you meet on the way up are the folks you’ll meet on the way down. However, I’ve been told Millsap’s a pretty chill guy. Ten years is a lot of time to grow.”
McCollum responded, “I have never held a grudge in my life. I honestly had forgotten all about it till he tweeted at me. I didn’t mean anything by it. Just that it actually is funny how things work out. I’m still a big fan of his.”

McCollum chatted with us recently about celebrating his first wedding anniversary with his wife, Hallie Ray. He said, “I know how to push her buttons pretty well, and sometimes I do it just to do it because she’s such a calm, consistent, emotionally stable person. I mean, she is the same person every single day. Unbelievably pleasant to be around, unbelievably easy to be around, and is like that all the time.”
McCollum also acknowledged that the time is nearing for him and his wife to start having a family of their own. He said, “You know, it’s knocking on my door, and sometimes I think about it, and at some point during the day, it would kind of cross my mind, and I will look in the back seat, and there’s gonna be a damn car seat back there if I’m not careful.”
