Sam Hunt On Taking A Year Off To Get Married
Sam Hunt was at the top of his game in country music when he took a year off to get married to his wife Hannah and get his life straight.
Sam shared with us, “I just realize how important she was to me. And so I got to a point where I was realizing that. What I was doing might be influential in some way, how I carried myself, the songs I was writing, what I was about in general, and I realized that that was a big responsibility and I wanted to make sure that I was grounded.”
He continued, “I wanted to make sure the foundation that I was standing on was sturdy, and I knew that Hannah was a big part of that and my faith in general and spiritually I wanted to be in the right place and I didn’t feel like I was there for a while. And so it felt a little dangerous to be freewheeling, even doing interviews, speaking on things without kind of knowing for sure where I was coming from and what I what my purpose was.”
Hunt is currently working on new music for a new album coming this year. He recently released a single called “Kinfolks.”
