Over 600 Jellyfish Stings Florida This Past Weekend: What Not To Do
There were over 500 jellyfish stings on Sunday ALONE in Florida. USA Today reports the warm weather (larger crowds) and the tides were a bad mix. Of all the stings, none were super serious but did you know jellyfish are responsible for more deaths than sharks? News to me.
The article goes on to say some home remedies can do more bad than good. “Sting No More” is the best to use. Or use white vinegar and tweezers to get tentacles or stingers out.
They say the myths that don’t work: peeing on a sting or using seawater or shaving cream with a razor or credit card because it can mean more venom in your body instead of just on your skin.
