What To Do In Tampa If You Need Help With The Rent. Rent assistance in Tampa Bay? Yep. There is help. Mayor Castor said “We hear the call for help and are working as quickly as possible to get qualified, local renters the help they desperately need to pay their rent bill.” Now, Tampa Bay’s Rental and Assistance Program has a website and is here to help with Deposits, First and Last month rents, and even ongoing subsidies.   • See If You Can Qualify 1st

    Fill out the PRE screen information HERE on the city website. If you qualify, the site will allow you to then complete a full application.

  • What Else You Need To Know

    The city’s online portal will only be open Wednesdays and Thursdays to take application. Some will qualify, others may not. For that reason they will take up to 250 applications each day.  They expect the average award amount to be around $10,000.
