Top 10 most expensive homes Tampa Bay sold in 2022. In 2022, the Tampa Bay area experienced a rollercoaster of a year in terms of real estate. The first half of the year saw a home buying frenzy fueled by historically low interest rates caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Many homes were selling above the list price and multiple offers were common. However, by the third quarter, interest rates began to rise and the volume of sales decreased. Despite this, the luxury market remained strong, with new highs being achieved in areas like Davis Islands and along the beaches.

According to data from the Multiple Listing Service, the top 10 most expensive homes sold in the Tampa Bay area brought in over $110 million in total. Nine out of the top 10 were purchased in cash. A trend report from Coldwell Banker found that one-third of affluent individuals surveyed believed that real estate was the safest investment when compared to stocks, bonds, pensions, and cryptocurrency.
