Our first artist announcement for the 2023 99.5 QYK Guitar Pull is Scotty McCreery!  He will join more of your favorite country artists for a night of music and fun at 99.5 QYK’s Guitar Pull! Tune in every day at 8:20am with Tampa Bay’s Hometown Morning Krewe as we announce the rest of the lineup.

Scotty is a North Carolina native and season 10 winner of American Idol, Scotty McCreery, is known for his blend of traditional country twang with a modern twist. With the release of his newest heartbreak single “Cab in a Solo”, McCreery shows no sign of slowing down as this was his most added song to country radio in the first week of release with 120 stations.

    Who is Scotty McCreery?

    Since his breakout year in 2011, McCreery has shown no signs of stopping with his first four albums reaching No.1, five consecutive No.1 singles including RIAA Double Platinum-certified “Five More Minutes,” the RIAA Platinum-certified “This Is It,”  which was No.1 for two weeks, and RIAA Gold-certified “In Between” on his album Seasons Change.

    Scotty McCreery was making history in the music industry by being both the first country artist and the youngest male artist of any genre to debut his first studio album, Platinum-certified Clear as Day, at No.1 on the all-genre Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. In 2011, McCreery was named the ACM New Artist of the Year, won the  the CMT Music Award for Breakthrough Video of  the Year with, “The Trouble with Girls” in 2012, and BMI Awards for writing one of the top 50 country songs of the year three times with “See You Tonight in 2015, “Five More Minutes” in 2018, and “This is It” in 2018. After making waves in the country music scene, McCreery released his first book, Go Big or Go Home: The Journey Toward the Dream, in 2016. 

    McCreery is one of six inductees in the 2023 class scheduled to be inducted in the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame this fall. You won’t want to miss Scotty McCreery at this years 2023 Guitar Pull!
