Rock concert, cheering crowd in front of bright colorful stage lights, Hands up with pleasure from the show

Finding new music to listen to has never been easier. There’s streaming platforms with millions of songs at your fingertips. With big awards shows like the CMT Music Awards, CMA’s and ACM’s, it’s easy to overlook new artists that pack a serious punch. Today, we’re here to shine a light on 7 new country artists to add to your playlist in 2024.

Country Music has many different styles and stories to tell depending on where you’re from or what you’re into. There’s Traditional Country, Outlaw Country, Red Dirt Country, Appalachian Country, Pop-Country, Bro-Country, Alt-Country and more. From Wyoming to Texas. Alabama to Tennessee. Florida into Georgia. The Carolinas to Canada and everywhere in between you can find great artists that haven’t hit it big.

With the rise of Tik-Tok and Instagram artists, it’s hard to drown out the noise. Don’t get me wrong, there are some great artists getting the recognition they deserve because of social media, but there’s a flipside to that. Everyday we’re bombarded with unoriginality and lackluster ten second videos in a world where everyone is trying to go viral.

In 2024, I’m looking for quality music over quantity of songs. Everybody loves a double album, but releasing albums with dozens of songs doesn’t sink in. I’ll take an EP with 4 great songs over a mediocre mixed bag without a story.

Country Artists to watch in 2024

Nashville isn’t the only place to find great country music. Over the past few years, there’s been a new wave of artists hitting the road and finding new sounds within the genre from across the country. They blend the sounds of classic rock, folk, contemporary and country.  When putting together the list of country artists to watch in 2024, we wanted to include artists you wouldn’t hear everyday.

Here’s the list of 7 new country artists to add to your playlist in 2024.

  • Treaty Oak Revival

Treaty Oak Revival blends their Red Dirt Country roots with the influence of punk and southern rock to set themselves apart from the pack. They released their first album ‘No Vacancy’ back in 2021. Treaty Oak released their highly anticipated second album ‘Have A Nice Day’ in November 2023, marking their territory in the genre.

  • Wyatt Flores

Wyatt Flores is one of the artists using social media to do it right. Instead of lip syncing in the bakery section of the local grocery store, the Oklahoma native is using his platform to share new music while actually…singing. Flores has racked up millions of streams with the release of his new ‘Life Lessons’ EP and shares stories on life.

  • Muscadine Bloodline

The Alabama natives Gary Stanton and Charlie Muncaster have cemented their path as independent artists in Country Music. Muscadine formed in 2016 and quickly caught fire with the fan favorite ‘Porch Swing Angel’. Since then, they’ve found their place within the genre somewhere between southern rockers and 90s twang. Their newest album Teenage Dixie takes listeners heists, heartbreak and western stories of fallen generations.

  • Pecos & The Rooftops

Another group of hard hitters out of the Lone Star State, Pecos & The Rooftops. After breaking onto the scene in 2019 with the fan favorite track, ‘This Damn Song’, Pecos & The Rooftops have racked up over 350 million global streams. Back in June of 2023, Pecos released their self-titled album featuring a blend of punk rock and traditional country sounds.

  • Red Clay Strays

The Red Clay Strays are no stranger to the stage. Formed in 2016, these Alabama natives draw inspiration from legends like Lynyrd Skynyrd and Johnny Cash to bring southern rock back to the big stage. Their hit song “Wondering Why” broke the Billboard Hot 100 in December 2023, and is slated to continue rising through 2024. They’ve toured with Eric Church, Elle King, Dierks Bentley and have opened for Kip Moore, Old Crow Medicine Show, and more.

  • Ella Langley

The Alabama native sets herself apart from the pack through her no nonsense storytelling and classic rock roots. Langley first broke onto the scene writing for artists like Elle King and touring with Jon Pardi, Koe Wetzel, Cody Johnson, Randy Houser and more. Her debut EP in 2023, Excuse The Mess, racked up over 120 million streams and has landed her a spot on upcoming tours with Riley Green, HARDY, and Morgan Wallen for 2024.

  • Southall

Formerly known as the Read Southall Band, Southall isn’t just your ordinary mainstream act. Stemming from the Oklahoma plains, Southall “expertly combine country, rock & roll, and the dust and grit of the band’s native Red Dirt scene.” If you’re a fan of Whiskey Myers, Cross Canadian Ragweed, or The Steel Woods, Southall is right up your alley.
