3 Florida Towns Named Best To “Escape The Rat Race”
In all honesty, everybody is looking for a way to escape the stressors of everyday life. With unlimited ways for people to reach you through email, text, social media, and more, it becomes hard to drown out the noise. Sometimes, you just have to put that all aside and take a breather, but where do you go? Three Florida towns were named the best to “escape the rat race” in a new study and we have the info you need.
In a recent study done by Joy Organics, they named the 150 best places in America to escape the rat race for 2024. The three Florida towns featured on the list are equally relaxing as they are adventurous. Two of the towns are located right along the best beaches in the country on the Gulf of Mexico, but the other takes things more inland for tropical excursions through lakes and rivers.
Florida Places To Escape The Rat Race
Many of the other places on the list include mountain towns, but you know what you’re getting when you come to Florida. If you prefer beaches over the mountains, you’re in the right place.
The first Florida town to escape the rat race is Mount Dora, FL. Mount Dora is located just an hour from Orlando and offers the slowdown country life. There are bike trails, parks, lakes and boardwalks. After a day of activities, take a lap thought the old shops, rail stations and finish off with the classic dining options to add to the experience.
The second Florida spot to escape the rat race is Dunedin, FL. For us Tampa Bay folks, we know all about Dunedin. Dunedin is located right along Florida’s Gulf Coast. You’ve got access to some of the best beaches in the country along with bike trails, classic inns, cafes and more. You’ve got Honeymoon Island and Caladesi state parks right off the coast of Dunedin and make the perfect spot to catch a sunset.
The Third Florida spot to escape the rat race is Sanibel, FL and its just a short drive from Fort Myers. Only a 2.5 hour drive from Tampa, Sanibel is full of things to do. Shelling is one of the favorite attractions for tourist in Sanibel and get this, it’s even named the Seashell Capital of the World. There’s secluded keys like Gasparilla Island and Lovers Key, plenty of family fun activities, fishing, waterfront restaurants, and more.
