Post Malone Is Working on a Country Record
Post Malone performed with Morgan Wallen and HARDY at the CMA Awards a few weeks ago (11/8). After that, everyone speculated that the artist would be doing a country album soon.
Post Malone has just confirmed that, indeed, he will be doing a country record. He mentioned it during a live stream chat with fans on his Twitch channel while he was playing Apex Legends. When asked about getting into the country genre, he said, “Country record is coming. I keep singing a song that we made while I was in Nashville. It’s so f——- sick, but it’s not out.”
Malone added that he is currently working on two albums but did not say if they were both country. He did say, “We made such sick music down in Nashville. It was so much fun.” Post Malone is a hip-hop artist, but he’s also recorded with rock artists and done a number of rock covers.
Speculation about his country album started after photos of himself with HARDY and Morgan Wallen in the studio began showing up on social media. After that the three performed a tribute to 1990s country star Joe Diffie at the CMAs. The performance saw Wallen and HARDY sing “John Deere Greene,” before Post Malone joined them for “Pickup Man.”
Posty said on Twitch of that performance and HARDY, “Hardy is amazing. He is such a sweetheart. I had the most fun time ever.”
Backstage after the performance, HARDY told us, “We have gotten a hold of all of Joe Diffie’s tapes from the ’90s, the actual session themselves, and we have basically done what we have done with Hixtape, and we’ve taken some of Joe’s vocals out and all that, and we’ve added some of the biggest singers in country music to help him sing some of his biggest hits, and you saw two of those tonight.”
