Garth Brooks Says Ronnie Dunn Is ‘Long Overdue’
Garth Brooks released a new song called “Rodeo Man,” and it features his buddy and fellow Oklahomain Ronnie Dunn. Garth told us of the new song, “I love everything about ‘Rodeo Man,’ from that Quentin Tarantino lick at the start, all the way through the solo. I don’t know, man. Ronnie Dunn’s voice. It’s just fun. And it really, really fits the life of a ‘rodeo man,’ which pretty much is from the time it starts to the time it’s finished. It’s just 100-miles-an-hour.”
Brooks shared that he and Dunn have known each other for quite some time now, “Ronnie and I knew of each other back in the late-’80s playing all the Oklahoma honky-tonks. Then, of course, how could you miss him with Kix Brooks and him? We were kind of running side-by-side on this. But it’s funny – at this part of both of our careers, getting to sing together is a first, but it is something that is long, long overdue for me.”

Garth released his new Time Traveler album earlier this week (11/7). He said of the new work, “What I love about Time Traveler is we’re releasing new music along with stuff that we have done since we came out of retirement in 2014. Along with Triple Live, which we’ve done our entire career, it completes the set for me.”
The Limited Series – including Time Traveler – is available at all Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s stores.
Brooks has lots going this month (November) in addition to this week’s release of new music – just a couple weeks from now (Friday, November 24), he’ll celebrate the long-awaited opening of his Friends in Low Places Bar and Honky-Tonk in downtown Nashville will a special concert that’ll also stream live on Amazon Prime following the NFL’s first-ever Black Friday game (a matchup between Miami Dolphins and the New York Jets).
