Shania Twain On How Menopause Helped Her Love Her Body
Shania Twain is thriving as she goes through menopause. The “Man! I Feel Like A Woman!” singer recently shared how she gained a positive, new perspective on her appearance. 58-year-old Twain told the New York Post in an interview published this week that “Menopause taught me to quickly say, ‘You know, it may only get worse. So just love yourself now. Just get over your insecurities—they’re standing in your way. And fear is standing in your way.'”
Despite being known for her empowering music, the “Queen of Country Pop” realized she wasn’t taking her own advice. But her newfound confidence has helped Shania feel sexy; she noted that she enjoys her body more than ever. This new outlook on her body image inspired her to go topless for the “Waking Up Dreaming” single artwork last September.

Back in July, Twain shared she wanted to get together with some girlfriends and get naked. She told Woman’s World at the time that she wants to go to a “remote area somewhere in the world and just have a nude weekend, just with the girls, the women I am the closest to.” As she noticed her naked body aging, she finally feels “more comfortable in my own skin than I ever have. It’s been a journey to accept all of me. I’ve come a long way.”
Twain is currently on her Queen of Me tour, recently kicking off the UK & Ireland stops with her first night in Glasglow, Scotland this week. The musician will be heading to the US starting October 12 through November 5, then heading to Vegas next May for her Come on Over – The Las Vegas Residency.
Twain is also enjoying seeing other performers in Vegas; she recently secretly attended one of Adele's shows. She later told The Sun,” I would love to sing with her. I think we would blend beautifully together. Obviously, that would be amazing.”
