Target’s Launching A Paid Membership Program, What To Expect
Target has announced a paid membership program kicking off next month. The subscription service, called Target Circle 360 is reportedly similar to what Amazon and Walmart offer.
According to the news release, the membership program, Target Circle 360, will cost $99 per year, unless new customers sign up at a discounted rate of $49, which is available until May 18.
What are the perks?
Subscribers will receive free same-day delivery for goods available through Target’s in-house delivery service, Shipt. Additionally, subscribers will receive discounted prices and 30 extra days to return products. There will also be a free two-day delivery service for subscribers.
“We’ve prioritized building strong relationships with guests since Target’s inception, and our reimagining of Target Circle continues that commitment,” Cara Sylvester, Target’s executive vice president and chief guest experience officer, said in the company’s statement.
The retailer’s credit and debit cards will give subscribers an additional 5% discount on any shopping trip for those enrolled in the membership program.
Reactions
Someone created a post in the Facebook group “All Things Target” explaining the new program and other upcoming offers. Some people raised some questions and concerns about it. “So what if you’re already a Shipt member? I literally just renewed mine in January [thinking emoji] Maybe we’ll be ‘grandfathered’ in to the new 360 paid tier??” one person said. Another person wrote, “Anyone know if circle earnings will carry over or if I need to go on a spree?!” One person wondered why Target didn’t start this program sooner, saying “Thank goodness! Idk why they didn’t do this from the start.”
Since 2019, Target has offered a free subscription service called Target Circle, which has served more than 100 million customers, the company said. The new membership program will preserve a free option while adding a paid membership for same-day delivery.

Before we get into ways to make extra money, let’s start with saving money. NerdWallet.com has some really simple tips for saving cash. A big one is to prepare for grocery shopping. That’s so that you aren’t grabbing a bunch of stuff that you don’t need on a whim. “A little work before you go to the grocery store can go a long way toward helping you save money on groceries,” they state. Prepping also means that you can maximize any coupons that you find for items you’ll be purchasing or knowing about loyalty programs ahead of time. The big one is to not impulse by. I’ve done that so many times, when I but cinnamon rolls or something else that I don’t really want just because it looks good at the time.
Another savings tip from NerdWallet.com is to restrict online shopping. Boy, that’s a good one. It’s so easy to sit there on your phone, saving items that look cool in your online cart.
