Kenny Chesney Posts Epic Hockey Night Photo
When NHL star Chris Chelios was honored and his number seven jersey retired by the Blackhawks Sunday night (2/25) at the United Center in Chicago before the game, Kenny Chesney was there to cheer him on.
Kenny posted an epic photo to his Instagram of him, Chelios, Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, Rande Gerber, and Cindy Crawford from the moment. He captioned the post, “Congrats and thanks to my friend @chrischelios7 for inviting me to Chicago. Loved celebrating you with Eddie Vedder, @randegerber and @cindycrawford. Love ya, pal, and happy the Chicago @nhlblackhawks retired your jersey. You deserve it.”
Many fans reacted to the impressive post, including one who commented, “This pic is iconic.” Another fan wrote, “@chrischelios7 = Legend. Loved watching him play.” One more fan said, “Glad to see you enjoying yourself.”
Chelios played 26 seasons in the NHL. Chelios played for the Canadiens, Blackhawks, Detroit Red Wings, and the Atlanta Thrashers before playing for the Chicago Blackhawks. He retired from the sport in 2010.
Vedder broke the news at a Pearl Jam concert in September that Chelios’ jersey was being retired.

Chesney recently released a new track from his upcoming Born album. The new song is called “Thinkin” Bout.”
Kenny described the song, “The hardest part of letting go is actually letting go. All that chemistry, all that intimacy, all that doesn’t need to be said is such a big thing… Whatever’s wrong, it’s not gonna change. But it gets late, you get thinking – and next thing you know, you’re tumbling back into something that just can’t be.”
He added, “I love this song because it gets into that space where you’re thinking about knowing you shouldn’t do this, shouldn’t think about that person, and that’s when maybe the letting go can really start to happen no matter how good it feels or how much you make each other laugh.”
Born will be released on March 29.
