Kellie Pickler Breaks Her Silence On Husband’s Death
Kellie Pickler has spoken for the first time since the suicide of her husband, Nashville songwriter Kyle Jacobs. She submitted a written statement to People magazine. Jacobs was found dead at the singer’s home in Nashville, Tennessee, in February. He was 49.
In a written statement, Kellie told People, ” It has touched my soul, and it’s helping me. As many of you have told me, you are all in my prayers.”
Pickler went on to say that “One of the most beautiful lessons my husband taught me was in a moment of a crisis.” She said that if you don’t know what to do, “do nothing, just be still.'” She noted that she has “chosen to heed his advice.”
Kellie thanked all the family, friends, and supporters for the “countless letters, calls, and messages” the people have sent her way. She added that it has “truly touched my soul” and wrote that it is helping her to get through “the darkest time in my life.”

Pickler also announced her plans for Jacobs’ memorial service, saying she is planning an “intimate memorial,” which will take place later this fall. She added that it was what “Kyle would have wanted.” She signed the statement, “Love & Blessings, Kellie.”
Metropolitan Nashville Police Department received a 911 on February 9, 2023. call per Variety. Upon arrival, the fire department “located Jacobs, who was deceased from an self-inflicted gunshot wound in an upstairs bedroom/office.
His death was investigated as an “apparent suicide,” a statement from law enforcement read at the time. “Mr. Jacobs’ wife, Kellie Pickler, reported that she awoke a short time earlier, and did not see her husband. They began looking for him. After she and her personal assistant could not open the upstairs bedroom/office door, the assistant telephoned 911.”
Kyle Jacobs and Kellie Pickler eloped in 2011 after two and a half years of dating.
