A Florida city takes the crown as the #1 city for ice cream lovers
Regarding satisfying ice cream cravings, Miami is the best city for ice cream lovers. This study gave Miami the top spot for several reasons. According to the study, Miami has incredible access to ice cream compared to the other cities ranked. Also recognized is Mimi’s widespread popularity and top-notch customer satisfaction. They’ve even racked up some sweet awards along the way, with a total of 45 says the study.
There were two standout spots mentioned in Miami. La Michoacana Joankale is a hidden gem of a Mexican restaurant. They offer an array of homemade ice cream flavors that will blow your taste buds away. And then there’s Naranja Piña Gelato, where they serve Cuban gelato. Imagine indulging in flavors like refreshing mint, nutty nougat with a crunch, a hint of muscatel wine, and creamy hazelnut.
If you’re looking for more ice cream havens in Florida, you’re in luck. The study revealed other cities in the Sunshine State that are for ice cream lovers. Orlando scored a spot in the top 10. Tampa claimed the 31st spot, while Hollywood, Fort Lauderdale, and Jacksonville followed closely at 37th, 38th, and 43rd places. St. Petersburg and Hialeah also made the list, ranking 44th and 53rd. Miramar, Cape Coral, Pembroke Pines, and Port St. Lucie secured their positions at 84th, 94th, 97th, and 143rd spots.
The study found that people flock to walkable, tourist-friendly regions by the sea in search of the perfect scoop. Miami claimed the top spot as the ultimate ice cream destination, followed closely by San Francisco in second place and New York in third. These cities topped the charts thanks to their impressive accessibility, high consumer satisfaction, and undeniable popularity.
On the other hand, some of the hot Southern cities didn’t fare so well in the ranking. Cities like Columbus and Macon in Georgia landed at 197th and 199th places, with Montgomery, Alabama taking the last spot. These cities received low scores due to limited ice cream accessibility, lower consumer satisfaction, and a lack of interest despite scorching temperatures.

It’s summertime, and you know what that means, scorching hot days that can turn your car into an oven on wheels. We’ve all been guilty of leaving stuff behind in our cars, but when the temperatures start rising, there are a few things you absolutely shouldn’t leave baking in there.
Scorching Hot Facts
Last year, Consumer Reports performed a series of temperature tests within enclosed vehicles at CR’s Auto Test Track in Colchester, Conn. The objective was to gain a better understanding of how quickly the temperature inside a car can escalate to unsafe levels. These experiments were conducted using precision measuring instruments.
During one of the tests, which took place on a June day with an average outside temperature of 61°F, the interior of a parked car surpassed 105°F within the first hour.
On a different occasion in July, with an average outside temperature of 78°F, the interior of a lighter-colored sedan reached over 104°F during a one-hour test period. Simultaneously, the interior of a dark-colored sedan climbed to more than 109°F.
Consumer Reports provided the temperature readings after one hour of testing. However, it’s important to note that the interior temperatures continued to rise as time elapsed.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued a warning stating that even on a seemingly mild day of around 60°F, the temperature inside a vehicle can dangerously escalate to 110°F over the course of several hours.
Life can get hectic, and sometimes we forget stuff in our cars. But when the temperatures rise, let’s avoid turning our cars into hotboxes of doom. It’ll save you from unnecessary headaches and ensure your stuff stays in tip-top shape.
The next time you hop out of your car, do a quick scan to make sure you’re not leaving behind anything that’ll suffer from the heat. Here are seven items that you should avoid leaving in your car on a scorching hot day.
