Tampa Jeopardy Champion Is Already Up To $170,000
It’s kind of nice to be able to congratulate someone from Tampa Bay on some big money winnings that didn’t happen at the lottery counter at Publix! Troy Meyer of Tampa has earned his winnings. The current Jeopardy champ has amassed $170,401 so far according to Channel 10.
It’s been an emotional week for Meyer. On the show, he mentioned that his mother has recently passed away. The family ties to the game show run deep – he says his grandfather loved Jeopardy. His grandfather would quiz Troy when he was just 5.
With his physical appearance, some social media fans are calling him Clark Kent. He’s got a lot of watchers cheering him on. Many are hoping he goes on one of those super long runs. His most recent win has landed him a spot in the show’s Tournament of Champions. [Source: Channel 10]
