Luke Combs Knows Grammy Nominations Are ‘Pretty Unique’
The 65th Annual Grammy Awards will be handed out in Los Angeles on February 5, and Luke Combs is a nominee in three of the four country music categories at this year’s show.
Luke is nominated for Best Country Album for Growin’ Up, Best Country Song for “Doin’ This,” and Best Group / Duo Performance for his duet with Miranda Lambert, “Outrunnin’ Your Memory.”
Combs said of his recent nominations, “Getting these Grammy nominations is awesome, you know? You know they don’t come around too often. And so you know, having the opportunity to be thought of when that time comes is pretty unique and is always, always awesome. ”
Luke was nominated for the all-genre Best New Artist Grammy in 2019; he was also nominated for a Grammy in 2020 in the Best Country Duo / Group Performance for his collaboration with Brooks & Dunn, a remake of their song “Brand New Man.” He has yet to win a Grammy.
Combs recently announced that he would release a new album on March 24, 2023. The album will be out just before his stadium tour, which kicks off on April 1. The new project will have 18 songs on it.
He posted the news on his Instagram, writing, “New album. 18 songs. March 24.” Fans loved the news, and many commented on the post, including one who wrote, “18 BRAND NEW songs… and right before the stadium tour starts? (fire emoji).” Another fan commented, “Ahhhhhhhh can’t wait.” One more fan said, “Sooo excited.”
In September, Luke announced his 2023 tour dates with special guests Riley Green, Lainey Wilson, Flatland Cavalry, and Brent Cobb. The tour will kick off on March 25 in Arlington, Texas; it will play the U.S. through July and then go overseas to play, where he’ll play New Zealand, Australia, and Europe. Cody Johnson and Lane Pittman will open those dates.
