Jennifer Aniston Reveals She’s ‘Buddies’ With Ex Brad Pitt
Who would’ve thought that Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt would be amicable, let alone good friends after the way they split in 2005?
In a new interview, Aniston revealed that there was no awkwardness between the former couple, and that they’re actually on friendly terms.
Last September, Aniston and Pitt publicly reunited when they both appeared in a fundraising table read of Fast Times at Ridgemont High, alongside other famous faces such as Morgan Freeman, Matthew McConaughey and Shia LaBeouf.
“It was absolutely fun,” the Friends actor said. “Brad and I are buddies, we’re friends.”
Aniston, 52, portrayed Linda (originally played by Phoebe Cates in the 1982 teen movie) and Pitt, 57, read for Brad (originally played by Judge Reinhold). They played romantic interests in the table read, as Aniston further elaborated, “And we speak, and there’s no oddness at all, except for everyone that probably watched it and was wanting there to be, or assumed there to be. We had fun, and it was for a great cause, [Sean Penn’s community relief nonprofit] CORE.”
The former couple was married for 5 years, from 2000 to 2005. The exes have since rekindled their friendship, with Pitt attending her 50th birthday in 2019, as well as sharing a friendly moment at the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards.
The Break Up actress was later married to Justin Theroux, 49, from 2015 to 2017. Pitt’s marriage to Angelina Jolie also lasted five years, from 2014 to 2019.
