The Creator Of ‘American Idol’ Is Teaming With TikTok To Launch An In-App Talent Search
Simon Fuller, the creator of American Idol, is teaming up with TikTok to find a new supergroup. Per Variety, “The audition process will be conducted via an in-app process, of which no further details were available.”
Not only did Fuller create American Idol, but he is a veteran music manager and the founder of XIX Entertainment; he used to manage the Spice Girls.
In an announcement about the forthcoming project, Fuller said, “TikTok has empowered self-expression and creativity and captured the hearts and minds of hundreds of millions of passionate users. With the help of the TikTok audience, I will bring together a line-up of incredible artists to shape the next level of Pop Fandom. This will be the most connected pop group ever, thriving on every platform and sharing their talent and positive energy with the world.”
