Kenny Chesney Releases ‘Here And Now,’ Is ‘Cautiously Optimistic’ About Touring
Kenny’s Chesney’s Here And Now album is out and he will host a live online premiere of the new work tonight (5/1) on his own website (kennychesney.com) at 7pm ET / 6pm CT.
Kenny posted to Instagram, “I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard a song and thought ‘that’s me.’ Through the years, I started to realize how important music is in all of our lives. It’s a life raft, a coach cheering for you, a shoulder to cry on, a reason to take stock.”
He continued, “When I’m listening to songs in the studio, actually putting a record together, I’m thinking about that. I’m thinking about Vibe Room conversations, people I meet moving around, the stories I’m told… the reasons people connect with the songs. @noshoesnation, there’s a lot of life in this record. A lot of my life and a lot of yours. I hope you hear it and think “that’s me.” The new album #hereandnow is out now.”
Chesney talked about the possibility of touring in 2020 this morning. He said, “Well I can say we’re cautiously optimistic that we’re going to play music this year. Honestly, we obviously play in a lot of NFL venues, so we’re just watching what they do. They don’t even know what they’re going to do yet, so it’s an interesting waiting game.”
He added, “The problem is getting people together in the first place. I think once it’s safe, we’re gonna go play, and we’ll play where we usually play, at Gillette. And I hope that’s sooner than later.”
