Carly Pearce’s Dream Collaborator? ‘John Mayer Comes To Mind’
Country music has always been a genre filled with collaborations: from Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson, to Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt. But some of the great collaborations come when country artists stretch outside of the genre.
Florida Georgia Line with Bebe Rexha would be one example; others would be Kelsea Ballerini and The Chainsmokers and Maren Morris and Zedd.
Cary Pearce hasn’t done a big collaboration outside of her genre yet, but she says that she would like to. “John Mayer comes to mind because I feel like there’s still so much country to him. And also, just his songwriting is very inspiring. So I would say him.”
While we don’t know who is it as of yet, Pearce promises at least one country collaboration on her sophomore album, which she’s working on to release later this year.
Carly plays at Blake Shelton’s Ole Red club in downtown Nashville on June 8th during CMA Fest.
